dec. 5th 2024 i read today that the CFO of Walmart has announced that they are expecting spikes in prices becuase of tariffs that donald trump is enforcing. i genuinely can't understand how a majority of america could not see past this from the moment it came from his mouth. i can't even fully blame them because i didn't understand this concept fully until after he was elected. i didn't know exactly what it meant, i just knew that there would be a raised price on imports from foreign countries. the message here is american nationalism. the big problem with this is that america doesn't have the infrastructure to support a system based solely on american production, the same way nearly any other country doesn't. things would only get cheaper under this plan if we started making things in america, which won't happen and is why Walmart has said "hey yeah were gonna fuck you guys over because it is cheaper for us." the thing that most people don't understand about tariffs is the artificial inflation that comes with it. companies are able to jack the prices of goods up artificially because it is justified by the higher cost of production. it will cost more to get things into the country, so they can say "oh yeah we raised prices a little bit more because it costed more to get this here." in the end, this only benefits the huge corporations like amazon and walmart because one of the only things that are locally sourced in america is vehicles and produce/meat. vehicles are made with components sourced from other countries. i know this because i work for a company that makes circuit boards, and you can't make a car these days without electronics. produce/meat is sourced in the united states, but is still shipped across the ocean to other countries like china, who package the food and fill it with preservatives. the only thing that i can think of that we make in america that won't be incredibly priced is crude oil, which is exactly what they want to seem lower. everyone has been complaining about gas prices and i get the suspicion that trump's party planned a way to inflate everything else while slowly bringing down the price of oil. donald trump is very obviously in it for the money, along with the entire cabinet he has chosen. he doesn't care what's best for you. he doesn't care how much saliva you spit up onto his dick, he wants the money and so does everyone else associated with him. that's why the tariffs are there. that's why the tax cuts for millionaires are there. that's why healthcare ISN'T there. that's why american nationalism is there. i completely forgot to mention his mass deportation plan. it is just plain impossible. he wants to deport 10 million people (some legal citizens) in the span of one year, so 10 million every year for 4 years. this would cost approximately 1 trillion dollars EVERY YEAR just for finding the resources to hold mass deportation. that doesn't even mention the amount of lost jobs and tax dollars. it is disappointing to see several generations of america base their vote strictly on what they thought their wallet might look like. it is terrifying to see how ignorant so many people were, and similarly scary to see how bad it will actually blow up in their faces. there are facts behind all of these claims as well, i know personally because my company's corporate office is in taiwan and that's where we source from. we are preparing for a 60 percent increase on all imported goods. i hope to see an intelligence and some sort of hope through this because a recession is incoming if this man sticks to his word (which i am very aware is an unlikely thing).
nov. 21st 2024 so often we are convinced too live in the future and stay there for days or weeks or months until the day we look to arrives. once it does, we move to the next big day to worry about. i have been reading on awareness and trying to stay active in the present moment. after some thought and time, i realize just how much i really am looking forward to the future or looking back to the past. once i have these realizations, the present moment feels so much bigger, because it is. you have the choice to do something NOW. you can't change the past. you can't change what you look to in the future unless you act in the present moment. the NOW is so powerful and it is so important to take everything in and do what you can do in the NOW so that you don't have to look back to the past. once you begin to make the habit of staying aware in the present, the future becomes much smaller. you realize that one day the future will be in the NOW and you can act on it then. look at the people around you and learn. listen to the things around you and love. smell the air around you and take a deep breath. feel the earth and connect. take something out of everything in the NOW.
nov. 21st 2024 mr. morale & the big steppers was not loved enough. this album came out at the perfect time and i feel that nobody was ready for it because it came out when people needed it the most. this album is so human and there really is no filter within miles of it. when is the last time you took the time to love yourself? take ten seconds to love yourself and you will understand years of insecurities that you didn't know. once you learn why you have not loved yourself before, you have learned why you cannot love another as deeply as you want. you will learn why you can't accept the love you deeply want. learn to love yourself and you have found true love. take your time. take your time and fix your love and take the time to relearn your heart.
nov. 7th 2024 sometimes the difference of people in this world confuses me immensely. kamala harris lost the election, and i realized how many people genuinely are so brainwashed or evil. how easy would these things be if people got these made up societal norms out of their brains? when a woman across the country goes to a clinic to either save her own life during a pregnancy or change her own life by putting herself in a better position, they won't bat an eye. they don't even follow their own beliefs personally. it isn't until it becomes an argument that it actually means something to them. they also complain about the amount of people coming in our country to put themselves in a better position, but in 2020 i can very explicitly remember people saying that joe biden "wasn't their president" or that they have decided to move to canada because they refuse to be under control of a democrat, and yes the moving to canada goes for both parties. the difference, obviously, is that democrats are not calling immigrants terrible names and pushing for them to be mass deported. when i woke up to the news i felt a sense of fear, but not of donald trump. i felt fear because of the amount of people that actually voted for the man. these people were able to look past the man being a rapist. these people were able to look past this man being a sexual assaulter. these people were able to look past the man being a 34-count felon. these people were able to look past this man saying that the election in 2020 was rigged, while every trusted source told him that it wasn't. these people were able to look past the man directing hundreds to the capitol building on january 6th 2020 where people died, faux guillotines were built, and insurrection occured. these people were able to look past the man's constantly heinous words and reptitive racism and misogyny. these people are the voices of america. so maybe we are rapist-loving, sexual assaulting, convicted-criminal-president having, manipulating, pathalogically lying, bullying, killing, insurrecting, treason-accepting, and racist country. my fear of these people leads me to questioning their judgement. why are we, as a country, able to look past all of these terrible things that the man has done, but can't get past harris, even when we can barely name something that she has done so wrong as trump has? i feel that the answer is dilusion and misinformation. in 1998, the house launched an effort to impeach bill clinton because he lied in court while under persecution for a sexual harrassment case. in 1974, nixon resigned himself from presidency because of the watergate scandal. i'm not sure how the american citizens can look at both of those instances and say, "trump isn't as bad as those guys." this is truly a presidency of misinformation, lies, and brainwashing. countless times have i seen things that trump has said on social media, or something bad that harris did, and looked up the subject online only to find out it was in fact false. so many people will refuse to take this extra step. so many people have this alternate and false reality stacked in their mind, but to them it is reality because they know no better.
